Preparation for 2018…

It’s a Saturday night and all I wanted to do was relax, watch a movie, and go to sleep early. My process of relaxing always starts with a shower before bed. So, here I am in the shower when the Lord says to me “will you spend some time with me tonight?” Of course, I said yes!

I got out the shower and started doing some stuff and got a little sidetracked when the Lord asked me again “will you spend some time with me tonight?” I immediately got convicted, because to be totally honest, I thought maybe it was just my own thoughts making it up that He wanted to spend some time with me. When I heard it a second time in my spirit, I knew it wasn’t me and it was God.

I figured since I was getting ready for bed, I would just lay in my bed and spend some time with Him. I turn on some worship music, shut my light off, lay in the bed, and just start worshipping and praying. Don’t forget my lights are turned off and I’m laying in a completely dark room. After a few minutes, the Lord starts speaking to me. I grabbed my phone because that was the closest thing that I could write with, and it lit up, so I could see what I was writing.

The part I want to share with you is when He told me that “2017 was my year of preparation.” Now, I know I’ve said this before. But, this time He gave me clarification. “He said just as Esther changed a generation, so will you. Esther went through a year of preparation before she was Queen which ultimately lead her to save a generation. 2018 will be your year to save your generation. Much preparation is needed, stay focused on me, and watch my favor fall all over you.”

I was in tears, because who am I? Little ol me to be qualified to save a generation? But, if you look at the story of Esther, she was an orphan, she was a Jew, she shouldn’t have been qualified to enter the competition to be Queen. But, she had favor on her life. Now she goes into a year of preparation.

Esther 2:12 “During the year before each young woman’s’ turn to go to King Ahasuerus, the harem regulation required her to receive beauty treatments with oil of myrrh for six months and then with perfumes and cosmetics for another six months.”

Myrrh was a highly precious and valued oil that was used for purification and healing. It was a time of cleansing and healing. Then the next six months were for perfumes and cosmetics. This year of preparation started from the inside out.

So, 2017 was your year of preparation. It was your year of getting rid of the old crappy stuff, cleansing your system and finding your true value. My pastor has declared that 2018 is a year of “Open Heavens: miracles, signs, and wonders!”

When I look back on my 2017, my first six months were horrible. When I moved the first weekend in July, things started to get better. My first six months were my time of cleansing and healing. My last six months were preparation. Now we are in 2018 and I am ready to change a generation.

I share this word that I got from the Lord, not because I want to boast about Him wanting to spend time with me, or how amazing this word He gave me was, but it’s to tell you: “Hey, 2017 was your year of preparation, get yourself ready to change a generation. God is not a respecter of persons, so count yourself in. He’s called you to such a time as this! 2018 is going to be your year of “Open Heavens: miracles, signs, and wonders!”

Let me address what’s in my spirit at the moment: Men, this word isn’t just for the “women.” This story isn’t gender specific, your 2017 was preparation to save a generation as well. He’s called you, just as much as He has called the “women.” God calls an army of His people to save a generation.

Saving a generation may not be hundreds or thousands of people. It may be one or two people, that will turn around, and help another five to ten people. God created you specifically, to do what only you can do; to save a generation.

Don’t get discouraged because someone’s “saving a generation” looks different than “your saving a generation.” 2018 is going to be your best year yet; with favor from the Lord. Stay focused and keep your eyes on God and watch Him blow your mind in 2018!
